Cone Chair
Verner Panton, 1958 Originally designed for a Danish restaurant, this cone-shaped chair is based on the classic geometric figure and is mounted on a stainless steel base in such a way that it pivots. Its semi-circular shell is long enough to form the back and arm supports, making it an exceeding comfortable place to sit. Material: laminate body, base in satin stainless steel, polyurethane foam upholstery....

Side Chair
Frank Gehry, 1972/2005 Frank O. Gehry is well known for his use of unusual materials. With his "Easy Edges" furniture he succeeded in giving a new aesthetic dimension to such an everyday material as cardboard. Despite their appearing bafflingly simple, the "Easy Edges” are nonetheless constructed with an architect's care and are extremely robust and sturdy. Having given them a makeover from the world of colour, Gehry has given the "Easy Edges" a new dimension - colourfulness. Material: Corrugated cardboard, edges made of hardboard, natural or lacquered...

Visalounge
Visalounge is a new-generation lounge armchair for use in private and in public settings. It affords the comfort of a club armchair but without the expansive and heavy look usually associated with such a chair. Visalounge delivers relaxed comfortable sitting in combination with a light and timeless appearance....

.06
Maarten Van Severen, 2005 Revealing the same lack of compromise with regard to shape as the .05, the great comfort of the .06 becomes apparent only when it is used. The flexible integrated foam seat and back shell, with foam-coated compound springs in the back, provide a sensation of dynamic seating. The stainless steel tubular frame means the chair is ideally suited for outdoor use. Materials: stainless steel tubular frame, polyurethane integral skin foam, back with integrated leaf springs....

Heart Cone Chair
Verner Panton, 1959 A variant on Cone Chair, designed one year later and baptized Heart Cone Chair because of its heart-shaped outline. Heart Cone Chair has large, projecting wings reminiscent of Mickey Mouse ears that could also, however, be interpreted as a contemporary take on the classic wing chair. Materials: laminated body, base in satin stainless steel, Polyurethane foam upholstery....

Amoebe
Verner Panton, 1970 The Amoebe was originally dreamed up for Panton's famous Visiona installation. It is a marvellous example of close-to-the-floor lounge furniture and embodies the spirit of the early 1970s. In bright colours, the re-edition delivers even greater comfort thanks to its flexible backrest shell. Materials: laminated structure, foam upholstery....

Cité
Jean Prouvé, 1930 Cité Armchair is one of Prouvé's early masterpieces, designed for a competition for furnishing the halls of residence at Nancy's cité universitaire. Prouvé himself used this armchair with its dynamic appearance, its characteristic coated sheet steel rockers and broad leather arm support straps in the living room of his house. Material: Moulded sheet steel base, seat and back in single-piece fabric or leather cover, armrests made of natural leather straps....

Antony
Jean Prouvé, 1954 Designed at the beginning of the 1950s for the cité universitaire at Antony, near Paris, this chair was one of Prouvé's last efforts in the field of furniture design. The salient feature of this unique item of seating furniture is its unconventional construction, which Prouvé successfully combined with a strikingly dynamic shape. Material: Frame made of lacquered sheet and tubular steel, seat shell made of moulded wood, oak veneer with natural wood look....

Slow Chair & Ottoman
Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, 2007 Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec created this expansive armchair by using an extremely strong, precisely shaped knit which is stretched over the metal frame like a fitted stocking. Thanks to the knit sling cover, the Slow Chair combines soft comfort with ergonomic support, which is further enhanced by thin seat and back cushions. The translucent sling cover replaces the thick cushions of traditional armchairs, resulting in a design that is lightweight, yet generously proportioned. The restrained appearance of the Slow Chair is equally appealing in the living room or conservatory, while offering unrestrained seating comfort. Material: metal frame, polished or powder-coated aluminium legs, cover: knitted fabric, seat and backrest cushion: polyurethane foam and polyester wool....

La Chaise
Charles & Ray Eames, 1948 Charles and Ray Eames designed La Chaise in 1948 for a competition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, inspired by "Floating Figure", a sculpture by Gaston Lachaise. It is the unbelievable elegance of this assertive seating sculpture that enables any number of sitting and reclining positions, which is so very appealing. It has long since established itself as an icon of Organic Design. Materials: two bonded fibreglass shells, chromed rod base with natural oak cruciform foot....
