Low Table Set
Frank Gehry, 1972/2005
Frank Gehry is well-known for his use of unusual materials. With his 1972 furniture series "Easy Edges" he succeeds in lending an aesthetic dimension to such an everyday material as cardboard. But although they look surprisingly simple, the "Easy Edges" have been constructed with the consummate skill of an architect and are exceedingly robust and stable.
Material: Corrugated cardboard, contour of layers of cardboard, edges made of natural or lacquered hardboard....

Trapèze
Jean Prouvé, 1950/54
Just like the Antony Chair, Trapèze was originally designed for the Cité Universitaire at Antony. Its name references the table's two strikingly shaped legs made of sheet steel. Together with the tabletop's broad edges beveled outwards, they underscore the construction's solid appearance solidity.
Materials: base in folded sheet steel, laminate (HPL) tabletop....

EM Table
Jean Prouvé, 1950
At the beginning of the 1950s Prouvé designed the EM Table for the "Maison Tropique" project. With every single detail governed by its construction, the table follows the aesthetics of necessity. It illustrates the force vectors and static connections in a way that is otherwise only familiar in the context of civil engineering works.
Material: Moulded sheet steel base, powder coated. Oak veneer table top, natural or impregnated dark, natural wood look lacquer.

Guéridon
Jean Prouvé, 1949/50
Prouvé designed the Guéridon Table, with its particularly impressive structural clarity, for the University of Paris. This wooden table proves that modern tables do not have to be made of steel and glass and offers a variation on Prouvé's standard formal language, with its architectural overtones, by using a natural material.
Material: Legs solid oak, tubular steel connection, black powder coated, table top oak veneer or hard surface (HPL) with oak veneer edge, natural wood look lacquer....

Joyn Bench
Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, 2004
For the Joyn Table, the Bouroullec brothers have drawn on the vocabulary of their office programme of the same name - yet different proportions and domestic style surfaces give the tables a new look. Appreciably larger tops mean the Joyn Table affords plenty of leg room even on the shorter sides.
Materials: table top walnut veneer or white melamine, feet powder coated aluminium....

A-Table
Maarten Van Severen, 1992/2005
A-Table is one of the items of purist furniture which made Maarten Van Severen famous and has become his trademark. Like all his pieces, the table stands out for its symbolic shape and carefully balanced proportions. The name A-Table refers to the characteristic, A-shaped position of the legs. The first A-Tables were made as early as 1992 in Van Severen’s furniture workshop. What is striking about the series-produced A-Table is the satin, deep black rubber lacquer – it has a wonderfully warm and soft feel and, like a natural material, becomes patinated with age.
Materials: tubular stainless-steel base frame, legs can be individually height-adjusted, MDF top coated with rubber lacquer....
